Join your co-workers in becoming Hunger Heroes at St Mary's Food Bank (or your local food bank), Wednesday, March 18th (2 sessions available).
Did you know we have the world's first food bank right here in our own backyard? Founded in 1967, St Mary's became the flagship for food banks around the country and the world. St. Mary’s Food Bank serves to alleviate hunger through the gathering and distribution of food while encouraging self-sufficiency, collaboration, advocacy and education. St. Mary’s Food Bank is truly a community-based organization. Individual donors, corporate donors, and private grants help feed hungry individuals and families in our area. Serving two-thirds of Arizona’s 15 counties, they are committed to volunteerism, building community relationships and improving the quality of life for Arizonans in need.
St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance distributes 45,000 Emergency Food Boxes, at no cost, to individuals and families in need every month. A majority of those receiving Emergency Food Boxes includes the elderly, children, working families and the homeless.
Sign up as a Cubex Community Builder to pack these emergency food boxes with non-perishable items, sort food, or repack bulk produce. Positions include roles such as palletizing the completed boxes, as well as, less strenuous jobs that can be done seated. Two sessions will be available - 9am-11am and 1pm-3pm. Limited space is available and fill up quickly so sign up today!
