In celebration of all of our CUBEX family being in one place in January, we are sponsoring a one-of-a-kind Community Event at CUBEX HQ. It's called "Blankets and Brews" and is exactly what it sounds like.
In the first hour, we will be teaming up to compete against each other to see which team can make the most "no-sew" fleece blankets. The Medical Team will be making fleece blankets for Project Linus, a non-profit who has been providing love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets. The Veterinary Team will be making the same no-sew fleece blankets for a local non-profit animal shelters through Comfort for Critters who understands these blankets can improve the adaptability of shelter animals in need of a home. The third team will be the CUBEX HQ Team who can donate their blankets to either team for the win (Vet and Med Teams, start thinking about how you can win over the HQ Team for their blankets).
This is a fun, fast paced activity that will challenge your team building skills in order to efficiently crank out the most blankets in the time allowed. Work tables, scissors, rulers, and no-sew blanket instructions will be provided. Each team will have 5 minutes to come up with their game plan before the official time starts.
There are several positions possible for this activity:
The second hour will be a social/happy hour. CUBEX will provide snacks and beverages while you recount your blanket making experiences among your team mates. Please no eating or drinking while blanketing. The event will wrap up at 5:30pm where you will be free to enjoy your evening with whatever your team leads have planned for you. Please arrive to the event on time so you have this time to unwind. You've earned it!
The feeling you get from providing a warm, soft blanket for child or animal in need will last longer than this event will. Enjoy it, carry it into 2019, and thank you for being an awesome community building team!
