As the fires continue in Australia and news reports continue to fill minds and thoughts with images and details of the unrelenting devastation, we can, at times, feel helpless with the unconscionable sum of homes lost, lives lost, firefighters put at risk, animal populations depleted, if not destroyed, and habitat loss, ensuring future animal loss.
CUBEX is once again partnering with St Mary's Food Bank to help replenish the shelves for 2020 and help to alleviate hunger in Arizona. This year, we are again adding a Pet Food Drive to support Arizona Animal Welfare League and ASPCA (AAWL) to make this an all-in-one "People and Pets" Food Drive.
Through previous years food drives, Cubex has donated exactly 1000 lbs of food to St Mary's (that's approx 833 meals to Arizona families in need). Fun fact: In 2015, Cubex was able to donate a whopping 660 lbs! Not so fun fact: In 2019, we only collected 106 lbs. We have grown so much, I am confident we have another chance to top 2015! Let's see what we can do for our people and pets in our state.

Vet Ops Team is hosting a silent auction to support and protect our canine service heroes for July's Community Event. We are currently looking for goods or services that can be auctioned off to raise money for one protective vest for a police or military canine. Let's help protect those that serve and protect us.
Have you ever heard of "CanStruction"? CanStruction.org is known for their commitment to art, innovation, and hunger relief. Their art exhibitions and events have helped raise over 50 million pounds of food to local food banks since 1992.

"Living the Dream Rescue provides adoption services in many forms. We work to find forever homes for special needs animals such as: chronic medical, Cerebellar Hypoplaysia, amputees, animals with deformed legs (twisties), FIV+ felines and animals needing behavioral work. At Living the Dream Rescue, we focus on taking in animals who are most in need around the state and the Southwest. We have partnerships with large shelter facilities around the state to bring animals into rescue, many that have no chance of making it out of an open intake facility alive.
The Arizona Animal Welfare League's Walk to Save Animals 2k & 5k walk is a tradition for many Phoenix residents and AAWL alumni families. This family and pet-friendly event is AAWL's largest annual fundraiser, bringing out more than 3,000 people and dogs to help raise funds for the thousands of homeless and medically in-need animals AAWL rescues.
